Westchester Medical Center Awarded Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program Grant to Advance Safer Treatments for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Westchester Medical Center has been awarded a $459,333 Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program (ECRIP) grant to advance safer, more precise treatments for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, with a focus on children, adolescents, and young adults. Led by Dr. Mitchell S. Cairo, a nationally recognized pediatric oncologist, the clinical trial will evaluate FDA-approved immunotherapies that aim to maintain high cure rates while minimizing long-term side effects such as secondary cancers, infertility, and heart disease. This initiative reflects WMCHealth’s commitment to research that not only saves lives but improves survivors’ long-term health and quality of life.
