Patient Rights

At WMCHealth, we are committed to providing high-quality care in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that understanding your rights as a patient—guaranteed by state and federal laws—is an important part of your care journey.

If you have questions about your rights or need support during your stay, please reach out to Patient Experience or speak with any member of the care team.

We are here to support you and ensure your healthcare experience is as clear, respectful, and seamless as possible.

We are committed to ensuring you fully understand all aspects of your care. This includes your right to receive clear and accurate communication in the language you understand best about your diagnosis, treatment options, and any medical procedures.

To support this, we offer a range of services 24/7, at no cost to you to help you make informed decisions about your care.  These services include:

Limited English Proficiency

  • Phone interpretation
  • Video interpretation

Deaf/Hard of Hearing

  • The primary means of providing communication services for deaf/hard of hearing patients is through video devices
  • On-site ASL interpreters can be arranged on a case by case basis with 24-hour notice.
  • TTY (TeleTYpewriter) allowing deaf patients to text in real time, usually to another TTY unit.

We encourage you to let us know as early as possible if you need interpretation services. Here’s how to request support:

  • Before Your Visit
If you know in advance that you will need language assistance, please contact Patient Experienceto arrange for interpretation services
  • During Your Visit
If you are already at the hospital and require language support, inform a member of the care team. We will promptly arrange for an interpreter or other appropriate language services
