Distinguished physician executive to lead clinical excellence, quality and patient safety across WMCHealth’s nine-hospital network Inaugural Chief Clinical Officer role to position WMCHealth as a model of modern academic healthcare
VALHALLA, N.Y. (September 12, 2025) – Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) today announced the appointment of Peter G. Paige, MD, MMM, CPE, FACEP, as its inaugural Executive Vice President & Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). With a celebrated career at some of the nation’s most prominent academic medical centers, Dr. Paige will galvanize WMCHealth’s mission to deliver world-class care across its growing nine-hospital enterprise, redefining the standard of clinical excellence available to patients and families across the Hudson Valley.

As WMCHealth’s first-ever Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Paige will shape and accelerate an integrated system-wide approach to clinical excellence, uniting physicians and care teams across the Hudson Valley and positioning WMCHealth as a model of modern academic healthcare. His office will oversee WMCHealth’s
combined physician enterprise of more than 1,000 providers, as well as the Network’s robust graduate medical education programs, which train more than 500 residents and fellows each year in partnership with New York Medical College.
Dr. Paige most recently served as Chief Clinical Officer at the University of Virginia Health System, where he spearheaded sweeping clinical integration efforts and delivered dramatic improvements in patient outcomes, safety, and operational efficiency.
Previously, he was CEO and Hospital General Director at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he led a financial turnaround and positioned the institution for sustainable growth. Earlier in his career, Dr. Paige spent more than a decade at Jackson Health System in Miami, FL, where he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive, and Chief Clinical Officer, overseeing more than 1,100 residents and fellows and driving nationally recognized quality gains.

Dr. Paige holds a medical degree from the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse School of Medicine and a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and has held faculty appointments at the University of Virginia, University of Massachusetts, and University of Miami Schools of Medicine. A nationally respected thought leader, Dr. Paige serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Dr. Paige will begin in this new role on October 15.
