Appointment supports regional priorities around access, clinical quality and patient experience
SUFFERN, NY – August 20, 2026 – As Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) continues to strengthen care across the Hudson Valley, the organization today announced the appointment of Mill Etienne, MD, MPH, FAAN, FANA, FAES, as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of its Western Region.
Dr. Etienne will help advance clinical quality, safety and patient experience across the Western Region of WMCHealth, with a focus on strengthening collaboration among care teams and improving continuity for patients and families.
“Dr. Etienne is the right leader for this moment because he understands the full continuum of care—from the bedside to the classroom to complex operational environments,” said Peter Paige, MD, MMM, CPE, FACEP, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of WMCHealth. “His experience building specialty programs, mentoring the next generation of physicians and leading multidisciplinary teams will help us accelerate meaningful improvements in access, quality and the patient experience across the Western Region.”
Dr. Etienne most recently served as Director of Medicine and Neurology at Good Samaritan Hospital and as Vice Chancellor and Associate Dean of Student Affairs at New York Medical College, where he has been a faculty member for 12 years.
A nationally recognized neurologist, educator, researcher and physician leader, Dr. Etienne founded the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He has served in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years and is completing a tour as the inaugural Executive Officer of the USNS Comfort Reserve Unit.

Dr. Etienne earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, medical degree from New York Medical College and a Master in Public Health from Columbia University. He completed his neurology residency and fellowship training at Columbia University and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
