VALHALLA, N.Y. Srihari S. Naidu, MD, FACC, FAHA, MSCAI, was inaugurated as the 48th president of SCAI in Washington, D.C., on May 3, 2025. His term will last from 2025-2026.

SCAI is based in the U.S. and has more than 5,000 members worldwide. Founded in 1978, SCAI’s mission is to lead the global interventional cardiovascular community through education, advocacy, research, and quality patient care.

“SCAI is widely recognized as the home for all interventional cardiologists and has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of interventional cardiology,” said Dr. Naidu. “SCAI’s work is far more impactful, timely, and participatory than ever before. My vision is to continue SCAI’s legacy of excellence by promoting education, advocacy, and research in the field of interventional cardiology, and helping the nation better understand the tremendous work interventional cardiologists do around the clock.”

Dr. Naidu’s role as President of SCAI underscores his extensive contributions to cardiology, specifically within hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiogenic shock, and highlights Westchester Medical Center’s leadership in cardiovascular care. The hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute is regularly ranked by national organizations as one of the nation’s finest programs and for more than 60 years, Westchester Medical Center has been home to nationally leading physicians and researchers in cardiology.
