New device delivers real-time cardiac data from the field directly to St. Anthony Emergency Department
WARWICK, NY – December 12, 2025 – St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), has donated a state-of-the-art 12-Lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) to the Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps., in partnership with Town of Warwick Supervisor Jesse Dwyer. This new equipment will significantly expand the level of cardiac and trauma care available to local residents, providing first responders and physicians with immediate, comprehensive diagnostic information during emergency transport. This 12-Lead EKG establishes a real-time clinical connection between paramedics in the field and the St. Anthony Emergency Department (ED), enabling faster and more precise assessment of life-threatening cardiac events. The device’s advanced capabilities — paired with its ease of use — will allow Emergency Medical Service (EMS) teams to rapidly identify critical conditions, communicate results to ED physicians, and accelerate life-saving decision-making.
“This donation reflects WMCHealth’s commitment to ensuring every patient in our region has access to world-class, leading-edge care when it matters most,” said Andrew Pickens, MD, JD, MBA, Executive Director, Chief Medical Officer at St. Anthony Community Hospital. “By equipping Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps. with this technology, we’re building a stronger, more connected emergency response system for our community.”
“I am tremendously proud that we have excellent partners at St. Anthony and WMCHealth that care for the well-being of the residents of the area. Their donation of an EKG and medical equipment for the Greenwood Lake EMS will certainly save lives,” said New York State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec.
Warwick Town Supervisor Jesse Dwyer and Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard also emphasized the importance of the partnership.
“As both Town Supervisor and a volunteer EMT with the Greenwood Lake and Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps, I know firsthand how critical access to advanced medical technology is during emergencies,” said Dwyer. “I am deeply grateful to WMCHealth President & CEO Dr. Lubarsky and Dr. Pickens for their unwavering commitment to supporting local patient care. This 12-lead EKG will immediately enhance our ability to diagnose life-threatening cardiac events, improve communication with hospital physicians, and help ensure our residents receive the fastest, most effective care possible.”
“The gift of the EKG to the Greenwood Lake EMS is a potential lifesaving contribution. Thank you to WMCHealth for their generosity that goes beyond the four walls of their facilities,” said Newhard. The addition of the 12-Lead EKG complements St. Anthony ongoing leadership in patient safety and high-quality care. The hospital recently earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit that serves as a watchdog for patient safety, as well as a Five-Star Rating from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the Overall Hospital Quality Ratings category – recognitions that highlight its commitment to excellence across all facets of care in the Orange County region.
