How Does Westchester Medical Center Health Network WMCHealth Gather Patient Feedback?

WMCHealth values your experience and uses your feedback to continually improve the care we provide. Patients can share their thoughts in three primary ways:

  • Press Ganey surveys: These comprehensive surveys are a cornerstone of our quality improvement and patient satisfaction endeavors.
  • Online directories: You can provide feedback on our listings across platforms like available on Google, Healthgrades, and Bing.
  • Contact us: Visit our Contact Us page for forms and phone numbers to reach the right point of contact to address your comment or concern.

What is Press Ganey?

Press Ganey is a trusted leader in patient satisfaction, partnering with over 10,000 healthcare organizations nationwide. Their surveys help us understand patient perspectives and identify areas where we excel and where we can improve.

How do Press Ganey surveys work?

  • Who receives them? Patients who have outpatient procedures or office visits with Westchester Medical Center providers may be invited to participate.
  • When are they sent? Surveys are typically sent shortly after your visit, except if you’ve seen the same provider in the last 90 days.
  • What do they ask about? The surveys cover various aspects of your experience, including your interactions with providers and staff, wait times, and overall satisfaction.

How are Press Ganey star ratings calculated and used?

Your responses, particularly to the “Rate this Provider” question, are used to calculate a star rating for each provider. These ratings range from one to five stars, with five being the highest.

  • Rolling 12-month period: The star rating on a provider’s profile reflects feedback received over the past 12 months.
  • Monthly updates: Ratings are updated monthly to accurately reflect recent patient experiences.
  • Minimum responses required: To ensure reliability, a provider must receive at least 20 survey responses for their star rating to be displayed.

WMCHealth providers and administrators use these results to evaluate our performance and identify opportunities to improve the care we deliver.

What if a provider doesn’t have a Press Ganey score?

If a provider is not a direct employee of WMCHealth, or if they haven’t received enough Press Ganey survey responses, you may not see a star rating on the website. You can share your feedback on other directory listings (such as Google) if they have one. Or you may share directly with us via the Contact Us methods. Every recommendation helps other patients make informed decisions about their care.
