Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship Program.

Our fellowship is dedicated to training the next generation of leaders in minimally invasive, robotic, foregut, bariatric, and advanced gastrointestinal surgery. We are committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience that combines exceptional clinical training, technical skill development, academic scholarship, and compassionate patient-centered care.

Fellows benefit from a high-volume, diverse operative experience that emphasizes advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques, complex foregut surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, endoscopy, and bariatric procedures. Under the guidance of experienced faculty mentors, fellows progressively develop the judgment, technical expertise, and leadership skills necessary to manage complex surgical patients and excel in independent practice.

Beyond the operating room, our curriculum promotes lifelong learning through multidisciplinary conferences, didactic education, research opportunities, quality improvement initiatives, and opportunities to teach medical students and surgical residents. We strive to cultivate an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, professionalism, and personal growth.

Our faculty are deeply invested in fellow success and take pride in providing individualized mentorship tailored to each fellow’s career goals, whether in academic surgery, community practice, research, or healthcare leadership. We believe that the strongest training programs foster both surgical excellence and personal well-being, creating surgeons who are prepared to advance the field while delivering outstanding care to their patients.

Thank you for considering our program. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our faculty, curriculum, research opportunities, and the unique experiences that make our fellowship an exceptional place to train. We look forward to welcoming you to our surgical community.

Warm regards,

Ashutosh Kaul, M.B.B.S., FACS, FRCS (Edin.), FASMBS, ABOM
