Kingston hospital ranks 21st among 119 New York hospitals and among the top 20% nationwide for community investment.
KINGSTON, N.Y., September 14, 2026 — HealthAlliance Hospital, a member of Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), has been recognized by the Lown Institute as a 2026 Top Hospital for Fair Share Spending, placing the Kingston hospital among just the top 20% of hospitals nationwide that are meeting or exceeding their obligations to invest in the communities they serve.
HealthAlliance Hospital ranked 21st among 119 hospitals in New York State, according to the Lown Institute, an independent healthcare think tank that evaluates hospitals on their contributions to community health and well-being.
For several years, HealthAlliance Hospital has earned a distinction from the Lown Institute, reflecting the hospital’s ongoing commitment to improving access to care, strengthening community partnerships and investing in the future of healthcare in the Hudson Valley.

HealthAlliance Hospital works throughout the year with community organizations to bring health education, wellness resources and information directly to residents. Through partnerships with People’s Place, the YWCA and YMCA of Ulster County, Point of Praise Family Life Center and other local organizations, HealthAlliance connects community members with resources designed to promote health and wellness and expand access to care.
The hospital is also making significant investments in the future of healthcare for the region through the transformation and modernization of its Kingston campus.
Recent investments include Ulster County’s first da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, which enables surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with enhanced precision and may help patients experience less pain and faster recovery. HealthAlliance also recently introduced advanced 3D mammography technology, providing patients with access to enhanced breast cancer screening closer to home.
In addition, the hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory continues to provide critical, lifesaving cardiac care to patients throughout the region. Since opening, the lab has cared for more than 2,500 patients, helping ensure that patients experiencing serious heart conditions can receive advanced treatment close to home.
