Meet the First Babies Born in 2018 at WMCHealth Hospitals

St. Anthony Community Hospital

Clara Mae Vantress came into the world at 10:13 p.m. on New Year’s Day, earning the honor of being the first baby born this year at St. Anthony Community Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), in Warwick.

Born to Matthew and Caitlin Vantress of Greenwood Lake, Clara Mae weighed 9 lbs and measured 20 ¼ inches long.

Westchester Medical Center

Born at 2:44 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Ezra Belohlavek was the first baby welcomed into the world at Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), in Valhalla.

Ezra was cared for in the Isaac and Naomi Kaplan Regional Neonatal Intesnive Care Unit at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). He is pictured with mom, Athena and grandma Kelly Frentsos. His father, Captain Curt Belohlavek, is an officer at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Good Samaritan Hospital

The first baby born in Rockland County this year was born in Suffern, at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), on January 1 at 12:07 a.m.

Congratulations to Sarah “Shuli” Fuchs of Monsey and husband Zack, who gave birth to a 6 lb, 9 oz baby boy.

Health Alliance Hospital: Broadway Campus

Katherine Gregory and husband Christopher Harden, of Kingston, welcomed baby Ethen, born at 1:57 p.m. New Year’s Day at HealthAlliance Hospital: Broadway Campus, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). Ethen, 6 lbs, 15 oz and 20 inches long, is the first baby reported born in Ulster County in the new year.
