Opioid Addiction in Rockland County and the Hudson Valley

Overview

This conference will educate primary and specialty providers on the scope of the opioid addiction problem in adolescents and young adults both nationally and locally. Through lecture and case presentations, attendees will acquire a personal perspective on the impact of opioid addiction on patients and families, and Improve their understanding of the range of medical treatment options for opioid addiction. In addition, faculty will teach skills regarding the screening, engagement and psychological treatment of individuals affected.

Target Audience

Primary care providers (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants), Mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, psych nurses and NPs, PAs, clinical psychiatrists and psychiatric technicians), Substance abuse practitioners (physicians, psychologists, addiction nurses and NPs, PAs, substance abuse counselors and therapists), Education professionals (college professors and educators in higher ed, primary and secondary school teachers and teachers assistants, coaches), Government officials and first responders (police officers and EMTs), Community Participants (parents, recreational league coaches, business owners etc.)
